A new disclosure form and instructions are on the way for Illinois title agents and title companies. On April 4, 2018 the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional ("IDFP") Regulations posted a new Disclosure of Financial Interest Form and supportive instructions on its website.

Illinois Reduces Limited Liability Company Fees.

Reda & Des Jardins, LLC has recently been co-counseling the non-profit Keep Chicago Livable in a lawsuit with the City of Chicago, to prevent the introduction of a new ordinance that would impose restrictions on use of home sharing services such as Airbnb, VRBO, HomeAway and FlipKey. We are proud to announce that the ordinance, which was due to go into effect on December 19th, will be postponed until February 18th, 2017. The regulations were previously voted for, 43 to 7, by the Chicago City Council.

A group of Chicago residents called Keep Chicago Livable filed a first-in-the-nation federal class action lawsuit challenging the City of Chicago’s new shared housing ordinance that seeks to regulate activity on home sharing websites such as Airbnb. The lawsuit, titled Keep Chicago Livable and Benjamin Thomas Wolf v. City of Chicago, alleges that the City of Chicago’s ordinance, which was enacted on June 22, 2016 and goes into full effect on or around December 17, 2016, is an unconstitutional assault on the rights of homeowners.

Reda & Des Jardins is pleased to represent the non-profit organization Keep Chicago Livable in a lawsuit that seeks to block the City of Chicago’s new restrictions on Airbnb and other home-sharing service providers, set to take place next month. Keep Chicago Livable President, and named plaintiff, Benjamin Thomas Wolf, filed the lawsuit in Chicago Federal Court on November 4, asking the court to strike down Chicago’s Shared Housing Ordinance.
