Litigation

Our litigation practice includes bench and jury trials, administrative hearings and appeals in all aspects of commercial relationships.  Our attorneys have experience in prosecuting and defending disputes involving commercial law, contracts, employment issues such as discrimination, wrongful termination, and enforcement of non-competition and confidentiality agreements, business torts (unfair competition, breach of fiduciary duty, tortuous interference with business relationships and contracts), trade name and service mark infringement, franchise litigation on behalf of franchisers and franchisees, landlord/tenant, zoning, land use, construction, estate, and real estate disputes.

Our attorneys regularly appear in all divisions of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Will and Lake County, Illinois, Circuit Courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  We have also been admitted on certain specific matters to practice in numerous state and federal courts around the country on behalf of our clients.  Our litigation attorneys are experienced both on the trial court level and in courts of appeal.  We also represent our clients in alternative dispute resolution forums, such as the American Arbitration Association and mediation. 

In litigation matters, we work with our clients to develop the most cost effective approach to handle each case successfully and, where appropriate, to negotiate mutually acceptable settlements.

We also have extensive experience in General and Special Counsel Representation of State Agencies, Municipalities and other Governmental Entities.  Whether it’s condemnation, contract enforcement, or Collective Bargaining Agreements, we have the knowledge and background to resolve your issues before they arise.

We have frequently been selected to assist large firms in multiple party litigation situations where additional counsel may be necessary or serve as local counsel for out of state firms.
